Perhaps best known for her angelic voice, connects with and elevates her students through a constant flow of asanas (poses) that build strength, increase flexibility, improve balance, as well as aid in injury prevention and recovery.  She then, very sweetly, guides each individual to that place of deep peace and relaxation as she serenades you into savasana, ensuring that your yoga practice carries you from your mat, all throughout your day, in deep peace.

With a strong background in the challenge of physical sport and a passion for honing the body and connecting with other athletes, Gisela says “From my early experiences with sports, through collegiate track and cross-country, and finally to duathlon, triathlon, marathon and century plus cycling events, I have been in love with the physical challenge of sport.”It is from this level of expertise that she states: “The wonderful gifts of a strong yoga practice often enable an athlete to participate in sport with renewed vigor and strength resulting in improved performance.” She goes even further in creating the potential for a deeper connection to, and care for the self, through neuromuscular therapy, which she has recently added to her menu.

Through her teaching, Gisela shares her deeper understanding of the gift of yoga; the place where physical practice melts the quieting of the mind and liberation of spirit. “it is from this place of deep connection that authentic life flows, suddenly you are living your yoga, elevating your life to a new level of beauty and fullness.”

Originally licensed in my 200 RYT with Dolly Stavros, in 2008 I cofounded  Gotta Yoga, the first yoga studio in North Charlotte.

• This focus transitioned nicely into a private yoga fitness company, Elevation 121, shared with my husband.
