 September 2011

One of the best things in life is the fact that there are an endless number of experiences to have. You never know what each day is going to bring.
We arise each morning with a vague idea of what our day will bring. We have work, and meetings and luncheons and commitments, but days rarely unfold as we plan. We expect the world to continue turning on its' axis, we expect a sunrise and sunset. We expect to be healthy and happy. We have expectations of peoples behavior based on our past experiences with people.

Life is full of surprises. It is too short to be upset by small inconveniences.
The practice of yoga is really about staying grounded and centered in all of the experiences that life presents you. There is something to be gleaned from every experience. You must search for it. It is harder to find the meaning or lesson in the experiences that we perceive as bad or challenging, yet it teaches patience and calm and the ability to remain grounded in adversity.

I personally try not to seek out these challenges in life, but when they arise.. I remind myself to deal with them in the positive, optimistic manner and look for the lesson in each.

I am a believer that we create our reality by our thoughts and action, and there is a reason for everything. There are no coincidences......
