WOW!! One year!! Boy has it been a wonderful year.
Time flies when you are having fun.
Serving you in your yoga practice nurtures all of us at Charlotte Family Yoga Center.
When Diane opened CFYC, her intention was to create a place where all people could begin or expand their yoga practice in a supportive welcoming space.
Our second year starts off with some exciting changes - a new partner (me), a new schedule, and a deeper commitment to making CFYC inclusive to everyone. Our focus this new year is to create clarity and consistency in what we offer you.
One big reason for the changes made, is that we are looking to become an affiliate studio of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga.
On this path we are committed to maintaining our focus of inclusivity.
The goals in taking this path are to:
a) Improve the consistency of our classes.
b) Enhance our students abilities to expand their practice safely.
c) Expand our offerings at the studio - thus enabling more people to find their yoga home.
d) Enable new students to find their footing and balance as they begin their practice.
e) Empower our instructors as they assist you in your practice.
You may notice changes to our class names, but the content remains much the same. The changes implemented in the last couple of weeks have manifested in an increased glow on students' faces as they leave the center lighter and empowered for their day.
View our new term Power as your channel to empowerment - empowerment to get stronger physically and mentally.
Heating our rooms has been a logistical challenge, due to our heavy class schedule. This has created an inconsistent environment when you come to class and the temperature is not what you expected. As a result we have found it best to maintain a constant temperature in our two practice studios. We now offer heated classes in the Lotus room and room temperature classes in the Butterfly room. We hope that this will provide a consistent and comfortable climate for all classes and that you will find the temperature that suits you best.
The heat has many benefits to our health; sweating aids in removing impurities and in combination with a meditative flow - helps to clear our minds. However, those who are not big fans of the heat still want to reap the benefits of yoga. We understand and wish to honor this. We now offer non-heated flow classes and will be adding additional instructors so we can expand our ability to offer more both types of classes.
Speaking of our instructors, they are great!! Their talents are wide and deep. Each has their own unique ability to bring out the best we have each day. Our recent Runners workshop and Arm Balancing workshop have been well received. In light of that we have added Intermediate flow every Friday night, Runners yoga every third Saturday and a 90 min flow on Sundays. We will be looking to add more workshops that enable our instructors to share more of their skills with you, while helping you to increase your flexibility, expand your practice and discover more of your own potential.
As we at CFYC try to expand on what Diane has created, we WELCOME your input.
We encourage you to send your comments and ideas directly to Diane or myself, leave them discretely in the suggestion boxes in the restrooms or grab us for a chat.
You are why we are here!!!
Again, thank you all for being a part of the CFYC community. We look forward to seeing you at the studio and sharing time on our mats.
Namaste,
Clif
